Barbara Hussey (Lunny)
Jan.2, 1932 to Dec.26, 2019
Peacefully, at Orlando hospital, on December 26, 2019, in the 88th year of a well lived life our dear mother, Barbara, passed away. Predeceased by parents Beatrice Potvin and Hugh Lunny; husbands Edward R Grover, Bob Morris and Paul Hussey; daughter Janet Grover and grandson Benjamin. Left behind to mourn and celebrate this wonderful woman's life are son Wayne Grover (Jutta); daughter Judy Watson; grandchildren Aimee Watson, Edward (Ted) Grover, Nicholas Grover and great-grandson Fynnigan. Barbara also leaves behind nieces Terry Lee, Cathy, Maureen, Julie; nephews Mark and Patrick; and many caring friends in Apopka and Ottawa, Canada.
Barbara spent most of her life in Ottawa, and after working for 50 years, retired, moved to Apopka in 2005 and married Paul Hussey in 2006.
Barbara was a kind, caring, generous and optimistic person who would light up a room with her smile. She treasured and was very close to her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She became very close to some dear friends who looked out for her, kept her company after Paul passed, and as her health began to deteriorate, took wonderful care of her (thank you Teresa, Ann, Judy, Mary, Jeanne to name a few).
Barbara had an endearing love for animals and was a good friend to all the cats and dogs we adopted over the years. She had a huge and loving heart and maintained a wonderful positive attitude even in the hardest of times. And she loved to dance. She danced through life and leaves a legacy of love, caring, acceptance, and a fun loving attitude that lives on in our memories.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the caring nurses, doctors and staff at Advent Health Apopka, Apopka Hospital and Orlando Hospital.
Donations to the Central Florida Humane Society, American Lung Association or the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of Barbara's life will take place January 24th at Whelan's Funeral Home, 515 Cooper St., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
