On Monday, June 09, 2014, at approximately 6am EST, Dr. Anthony Speroni passed away at home.

Dr. Speroni fought hard against the cancer that would ultimately take his life. Not once in his search for a cure did he give up, as he knew there were too many people counting on him. He traveled the country searching for a cure, but after much research, it was concluded that not enough is known about genetic forms of cancer and deactivating the genes. Dr. Anthony made it through Christmas, before the pain got to be too overwhelming; from that point, he decided that palliative care would be the most logical way to continue.

Dr. Speroni was a teacher, a healer, and a loving husband and father. He dedicated his life to helping others. As such, his body is being donated to science, and will be studied in many places around the United States, allowing his teaching to continue indefinitely. The family feels that this is the ultimate gift to him, to have his body continue to teach others as he so very much wanted to continue to do.

Dr. Anthony loved to teach, sharing all that he researched and put into practice in his own life, whether it be health issues, lifestyle habits, or theological concerns. He also loved to travel, especially driving, as long trips allowed him the uninterrupted time to think that he so enjoyed and benefited from. Due to his travels, people around the country and the world have been touched by him and had their lives improved by his teachings.

The family Dr. Anthony left behind are his devoted wife, Sandra, and two beautiful daughters, Angela and Danielle, and his caring brother, Robert, of New York. Also of note is Jayne Cavallaro, who devoted her time and energy to care exclusively for Anthony; she became a part of his family, and he and Sandra are eternally grateful for the loving care she gave during his time of illness.

A memorial service is being planned, but at this time, no date is set. Please sign up for updates to the blog, and you'll receive notice as soon as plans are finalized. If you are unable to make it to the Orlando area, a virtual connection will be established to allow you to connect and view/hear the service, and instructions will follow.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family is asking donations be made to Hospice of the Comforter (the hospice that cared for him the last few months of his life) and the College of International Holistic Studies (where Dr. Speroni was a professor for many years).

The funeral home, DeGusipe Funeral Home, has set up a memorial web page for Dr. Anthony Speroni that allows photos, videos, and comments to be posted; this site will stay up forever.

If you are reading this, and you were not personally notified, please do not be upset. Dr. Anthony's reach was far and wide, and the family is doing their best to reach each and every one of his contacts but due to the extent of his network, is relying on the kindness of others to spread the word to everyone.
