Anthony "Tony" Buscemi died on January 25, 2019 at the at age 80 from complications of a fourteen year courageously fought battle with alzheimer's disease.

He was born on November 24, 1938 in Queens, New York to James and Margaret Catapano Buscemi. He was an Air Force Veteran ; and after discharge from the Air Force, worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Manhattan, New York during the day, and attended RCA Institute, New York City, New York, at night; where he graduated with a certificate in electronic technology. He later worked in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a Sr. System Engineer, and worked on U.S. defense contracts which took him abroad to Thailand, the Philippines, etc.

In 1974 he took a civil service job with the U.S. Navy Department in Patuxent River, Maryland, where he worked for years. In 1981, he transferred to the Naval Air Warfare Test Center in Orlando, Florida where he worked as a lead engineer in modeling and simulation for 24 years. While there, he went on to receive a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. Later he received a Master's of Science degree in System Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

Tony is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernadette Fletch Buscemi of Scranton, Pennsylvania; a daughter Maria Buscemi of Orlando, Florida; a son Anthony Buscemi III and Arabella Buscemi all of Winter Park, Florida; a brother James Buscemi, West Babylon, New York; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals who took such good care of Tony over the past 14 years, and special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their devotion and vigilance during his last hours on earth.
