SAUNDERS, ANNIE LAURIE, graduated from life on Thursday, January 16 at Eastbrooke Gardens, an assisted living memory care facility in Casselberry. She was born 92 years ago in Homerville, Clinch County, Georgia. Most of her life was lived in Daytona Beach before moving to her daughter's home in Longwood and then to Eastbrooke Gardens. She retired after 30 years service with Sears in Daytona Beach, working as a clerk in the candy and hardware departments. She was predeceased by her parents, A.O. Folsom and Jewel Spurlock Folsom, her ex husband, R.G. O'Sheal and widow of Allen K. Saunders, and seven brothers and sisters, all from Daytona Beach. She is survived by her only child, daughter, Glenda O. Bates (Bob) of Longwood, Granddaughter Aileen Bates Gocek (Ed) of Land O Lakes and Grandson, Robert J. Bates, Orlando, four Great-Grandchildren, Kalyn Bates of Orlando and Anastasia, Michael, Jasmine Gocek all of Land O Lakes, her remaining youngest sister, Barbara Folsom Pomerleau of Port Orange, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Annie's family is most appreciative of the care she received at Eastbrooke Gardens and Vitas.
A casual memorial of Annie's life will take place 3:00 p.m., February 15 in the chapel of DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, Maitland with Vitas Pastor Gerald Norrington officiating.
