Obituary

Anna Patricia McClure (Smith) 03/17/1928 - 02/06/2023
Anna was the daughter of the late William J. and Marguerite Smith. She was born and raised in Melrose, MA. She was the sister of the late Buddy Smith and Donald Smith. Anna graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1945, and was the Valedictorian of her class.

In 1947, she was introduced to Tommy McClure by a mutual friend, at a local dance. One year later, in August of 1948, she and Tommy were married. Their union lasted until his untimely passing in 1984. Together they raised their six children: Billy (deceased), Jimmy, Peigi (Pleasants), Maureen, Cj and Jane.
As you can imagine, with six kids, her home was very busy, and was a place for all their friends to hang out. She became affectionately known as "Ma McClure."

Anna was a stay-at-home Mom until 1978, when she decided to go back to school to become a PCT, and worked in that capacity at Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
In 1983, she and Tommy moved to St. Pete, Florida to be near their children, all of which had already moved there. She then worked as a secretary/receptionist at Barnett Bank, which is where she eventually retired from.

In 1997, she became a "Nana" twice, with the arrival of Christopher Pleasants and Andie McClure. The following year her second granddaughter, Allie McClure, arrived. She just loved being a Nana and adored her grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she leaves behind her beloved fur kids Spanky and PK, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She was a huge fan of Elvis, Mark Harmon, Tom Brady and Taylor Kinney. As she would often say, "They were good looking' dudes". She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and watching sports. But mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her "unofficial" adopted kids.

Graveside services are being at Memorial Park Cemetery, 4900 54th Ave. N, S.t Pete on Friday, February 24th at 12PM.
