Anna Mae Jones (Bayne), 95, of Kenneth City, passed away peacefully on 14 November 2022. Anna was born on 12 November 1927 in Jamaica-Queens, New York.
After graduating high school she worked as a bookkeeper at Radio City Music Hall. She married John M. Jones on 18 September 1954 moving to Kenneth City, Florida. There she worked for and retired from the Pinellas County School system. She was a long-time member of The Church of the Transfiguration followed by St. Jude Cathedral Church, St. Petersburg.
She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and sister who will be deeply missed. An avid football fan, her favorites were Notre Dame, Tampa Bay Bucs, and Miami Dolphins, to name a few. She also loved her Turner Classic Movies. She had a sharp wit, and a wry sense of humor.
She was predeceased by her parents, James H and Julia Bayne, her husband, John (Jack) Jones, and her brother, James F Bayne. She is survived by her two sisters, Julia (Judy) Chamberlain and Doris Bayne; three daughters, Kathleen Hailey, Barbara Poppe (Lester), and Deborah Jones; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; as well as, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 1:30 p.m., Our Lady's Chapel at St. Jude Cathedral, 5815 5th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
Of special mention, Anna's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the dedicated medical and care teams at Suncoast Hospice and Aventura at the Bay (as well as the Sisters of Bon Secours) and the Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute at St. Anthony's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
