Obituary

Mildred Anniebelle Aydelette (what a mouthful!) was the youngest child born to W.B. Aydelette and Lenora Newnam in Greensboro, North Carolina in December 1927. She had five older brothers and one sister. Ann grew up helping out at the family ice cream store, the Yum Yum and helping care for her numerous nephews and nieces. She graduated from Womens College, now Univ. of North Carolina - Greensboro.

While visiting her parents at their winter home in Lake Helen she went to a dance where she met her future husband and love of her life, James Flavin. They married in 1951 and she worked while Jim finished college. Over the next 60 years they moved several times and finally settled in Maitland in 1964. Along the way they had four children, Mary Lenora, Philip Shaun, Kevin Patrick, and Timothy James.

Over the years Ann acted as her husband's secretary. She was involved in numerous volunteer activities as well as raising orchids, bowling, and playing bridge but her family always came first. Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother of 9, and great grandmother of 10. Nothing gave her more pleasure than to have them near her.

Ann was predeceased by her son Kevin, and her husband Jim Flavin. If fact she went to join him for her heavenly reward on their 69th anniversary of their wedding day. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many nieces and nephews who all declare that she was their favorite aunt.
