Anita M. Stelljes passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard (Rich) in 1980. She is survived by her children Karen (Keith), Richard (Audie Kay), and Paul (Jeana), five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was born in Brooklyn New York in 1932 and came to St. Petersburg in 1945. She graduated from St. Pete. High in 1950.
Anita was a Lutheran and a charter member of Garden of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg. Anita and Rich were very active in their church and served in various volunteer capacities including Bible Studies, teaching Sunday School and working with the youth in Luther League.
She was also a charter member of the Germania Hall now known as the German American Society in Pinellas Park, which was founded by her father (John Siemer) and mother (Mabel) in 1951.
Anita worked locally as a HR manager for various companies, including Conax in St. Petersburg, The employees and bosses all respected and thoroughly enjoyed working with her.
Her favorite thing(s) to do was to spend time with her family and friends at the beach, church activities, and family time during the holidays. Anita loved to play the card game Bridge weekly with her Bridge club friends and she loved to shop. She was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:30 AM, with the service beginning at 11:00 AM at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg. A reception will follow. Burial will be at 1:30 PM at Woodlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Gulf Coast Alzheimer's Association or Empath Suncoast Hospice.
