With deep sorrow and eternal love, we announce the passing of Anibal Gomez Cabrera, who departed this life on June 6, 2025, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, at the age of 59.
Born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Anibal proudly served as a police officer in Puerto Rico before moving to Florida in 1994. There, he continued his life of service as a Court Security Officer for the U.S. Marshals Service—a role he carried with honor and dedication.
Anibal was the kind of person everyone felt lucky to know. He had a gift for making people laugh and a heart that never hesitated to lend a hand. He always answered the phone, no matter what. His presence brought warmth, humor, and reliability to everyone around him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
Above all, Anibal's greatest pride and joy were his five beautiful daughters: Alice Hurst, Adlin Gomez, Melanie Gomez, Irianis Gomez, and Nicole Gomez. He also leaves behind two beloved grandsons, Willie Hurst Jr. and Jason Hurst, who brought him endless happiness.
Anibal was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Matilde Cabrera Gomez, and his beloved brother, Raul Cabrera.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, 9001 Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
His daughters were his world—and though he is gone, his presence will forever be felt in their lives.
