Alvin Cecil Lee, Jr. (Dink), 61, Osteen, died Saturday, July 28, 2014, after a short illness. Born December 19, 1952 at Orange Memorial Hospital, he lived in Sanford most of his life and attended Sanford schools, graduating from Seminole High School in 1971. Alvin married his high school sweetheart, Pat Bilka, two weeks after graduation and together they have one son, Randy. He was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Sanford, having retired from the Seminole County Road Dept. after 37 years of service as a gradall operator. He was a husband, father, hunter and cattleman and moved to Osteen in 1999 to fulfill his lifelong dream to raise beef cattle. He often said he was born 50 years too late as he would have preferred to live life when transportation was by horse back and streets were dirt and people lived off the land. He was an active member of the Volusia County Cattlemen's Association where he was fondly known as "the tractor man". He maintained the event arena, working all the annual Cracker Day events. He supported local youth by volunteering many hours in the arena at high school rodeo events over the last 20 years. He provided support for the Volusia County Cattlewomen's Association helping with the fair concession wagon and concession stand. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Alvin was a Christian.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat; one son, Randy, both of Osteen; one brother, Tim Lee, Geneva, one sister, Cheryl Ann Westerman of Roanoke, Virginia, two loving nieces, Tiffany Lee, Geneva and Christina Boggs, Hollywood, FL.; two nephews, Travis & Lee, and one Aunt, Joyce Dorton of Sanford. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Alvin "Cecil" & Mary Elizabeth Lee, Sanford, and one grandson, Devin, in 2001.
