Alta Howard passed peacefully on July 14, 2025 in St. Petersburg, Fl at the age of 85 years young. Alta is survived by her daughters, Tracey Letourneau, Morena Budney and son- in-law Chris Budney. Her siblings, Rita Hedger, Ed Ward and sister-in-law Debby Ward all from KY, along with her 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Douglas Howard, and siblings Joe, Geneva and Don Ward.
Alta was born on April 1, 1940 in Halo, KY to Joe and Devada Ward. Alta had no harsh words to say about anyone. She lived her life with respect, love and joy to whoever crossed her path. She married her love and became a military wife on September 5, 1959. Her main jobs were being a wife and mother but she also worked in mobile home factories and food service until her retirement. Her hobbies were vacationing with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. And would pray for everyone who would need a prayer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 8, 2025 at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Fl 33710 from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a procession to Bay Pines VA Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg, Fl 33708.
