Alma Lawrence, of St Petersburg FL, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center at Bayfront Hospital. She was 98 years old.


Alma was born In Derry, NH on April 27, 1926 to parents Leonard and Louisa Cote. She moved to Ct when she was a teenager and married Alton Lawrence on September 1, 1945. Together they had two children. A son Alton and daugher Sheila. In 1988 she retired after a 30 yr career at Aetna Life and Casualty and moved to Florida. She was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.


Alma was preceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Louisa Cote, her husband Alton Lawrence, Sr., her son Alton Lawrence Jr and her grandson-in-law Daniel Green.


She is survived by her daughter Sheila and son-in-law David Letarte, sister Corrine Therrien, Daughter-in-law Marlene Lawrence, grandchildren William (Angela) Lawrence, Michael (Nichole) Lawrence, Brittany Green and Elissa (Bobby) Viera. She had 8 great grandchilden. Alana and Chelsea Lawrence, Tyler, Jameson and Kristal Green and Alex, Levi and Landyn Viera. She is also survived by special friends Marga Kaiser and Mary Johnson.


A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church 200 78th Ave. NE, St Petersburg Fl. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Poquonock, CT
