Obituary

Al who EXPRESSED HIMSELF through his dry humor and wit will be sadly missed. He loved his family, friends, country, and TENNIS of course. Sammie, the dog, whom could be found either following or sitting in Al's lap on their favorite chair happily watching Roger Federer beat Nadal on the tennis channel. Al was a true patriot; he served in the Marines, where he received a Purple Heart. Al also served our country in the US Army. All who know Al knew that he was not shy expressing himself, so it would be amiss not to mention his distain for the current Administration's treatment of his fellow Veterans.

He is survived by his "Soulmate" Conni; 3 sons, Michael (Mikey), Alfred and Jimmy; 4 grandchildren, Henry, Rebecca, Sara Elizabeth and Avery; 2 great grandchildren, Colbie (Cheeseball) and Carter; 2 sisters, Madeline and Nancy.

The family wants to give special appreciation and hugs to all his friends at Orlando Tennis Center. Ken Vargas, who was a tremendous support for Al and Conni during his illness, Tobias, Jeff, Mark, TJ and all the others that we missed supported Al and allowed Al into their lives for so many years through tennis and close friendships.

A Celebration of Al's life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 12:00PM at the Orlando Tennis Center, 649 W. Livingston Street, Orlando, FL 32801 407-246-4469. Inurnment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where Al will receive full military honors.

Arrangements are entrusted to DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, Florida 32751. (407) 695-CARE.
