Hyer, Alfred A., 94, of Largo, died Thursday September 8, 2022. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and moved to Florida in 1957. He joined the US Navy at 18. After moving to Florida, he worked as a Police Officer and then became detective for the City of St Petersburg, retiring in 1979 after 20 years. He then joined the State Attorney's office as an Investigator retiring in 1994 after 15 years. In retirement he spent time with his wife and grandchildren who he adored! Survivors include a son, Thomas Hyer, spouse Teresa of St Petersburg, daughter Colleen Touchton, spouse Terry of Hawthorne Fl. Three grandchildren Cathleen Kabat, spouse Steven of Hawthorne, Michael, and Jennifer Hyer of St Petersburg and two great grandchildren Silas and Ayla Kabat. He was predeceased by his Wife of 55 years Dolores Hyer. Please refer to www.rlwilliams.com for Celebration of Life details. Visitation and services are scheduled for Friday, September 16 from 6-8 PM with a service to take place at 7:30 PM. Committal Service with Military Honors will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 17 at 12 Noon at Memorial Park Cemetery.
