Alfred Christopher D'Andrea Sr., 89, of Smock, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA with his family by his side.
Alfred was born on August 1, 1935 in Rosedale, PA, the son of Pio and Catherine (Furlani) D'Andrea.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his wife Judith (Hutchin) D'Andrea, son, Alfred Christopher D'Andrea Jr., and siblings, Mary Elentri, Eleanor Draper and Albert D'Andrea.
Alfred, at the age of 20, enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. As a sergeant, first class for the Marines, he served in the Korean Conflict. The U.S. Marine Corp. recognized Alfred for his honorable service with a National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 51 and VFW Post 854. After 35 years, Alfred retired from his position of supervisor of the Fayette County Assistance Office.
Alfred is survived by his children, Catherine D'Andrea of Uniontown, PA, Joseph D'Andrea and wife Jamie of Uniontown, PA, Tina Hoy of State College, PA, and Judith Brooks and husband Robert of Uniontown, PA, step daughters, Cindy Clark, of Pittsburgh, PA and Bonnie Grosskopf and husband Ralph of Newport News, Virginia, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bonnie Hanan and Robin Jenkins.
Arrangements are under the direction of DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 65 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD. Interment is private.
