Mr. Albert L. Jack (Poppy), 80, of Sanford, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland, son of Paul Harvey Jack and Lucille Niswander Jack. He was married to the love of his life, Audrey Monroe, for 61 years. They moved to Sanford from Virginia almost 50 years ago.
Al was a certified welder and master sheet metal craftsman who owned his own business. His creative achievements can be found all around Central Florida, but his most notable is the historic clock he rebuilt for the City of Sanford that is located on First Street and Magnolia Square. Al was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a good cook and everyone especially loved his potato salad.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey, daughters Debra Schultz (Bob), Carol Bannister (Jack), and Sandra Colman (Steven). He was preceded in death by his son, Larry, brothers RJ and Bill, and sister Polly.
He has nine grandchildren: Gary Schultz (Patricia), Rob Schultz (Susan), Dawn Taylor (Scott), Crystal Jack, Samantha Hulsman (Michael), Travis Dunkinson, Cody Bannister, Chelsea Windham (Bobby), and Kristin Cruz (Tim).
He has ten great grandchildren: Linda and Derek Schultz, Clay and Kevin Taylor, Victoria and Abigail Schultz, Sean and Kathleen Hulsman, and Delainey and Pierson Windham.
He is also survived by lifelong friends Jerry and Polly Ross, many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends Thomas and Cheryl Green.
He was known as Poppy to all, and his friends and neighbors were as close as family.
