Obituary

Adele Lillian Goodwin, age 94 of Maspeth, NY, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Saint Petersburg, FL.

She was married to William Goodwin and mother to two daughters Linda and Carol.
Adele has six grandchildren Lisa, Cristine, Stacy, Dana, Kevin, and Ryan. Her great grandchildren are Santana, Madison, Elijah, Matrie, Leah, and Lola. She is also a great great grandmother to Roaryn.

Adele was a trend-setter from the start. She became a working woman in the 1940's at an office in Manhattan and later worked for Grumman Aircraft. In 1945 Adele met her husband of 63 years, William Goodwin. She devoted her life to being the best wife and mother. In the late 1960's, Bill and Adele relocated to Florida. They briefly owned and operated a bar in Madeira Beach where Adele's menu changed based on whatever she put together that day. Adele and Bill soon retired and spent the remainder of their days in Kenneth City.

Adele ran a tight ship at home. She was a great cook and quite crafty. She loved the casinos and often took trips to Biloxi with Bill and her mother Julie to try their luck. Our Nan had a great sense of humor and her opinions made every word a delight.

Adele was the matriarch of our family and she was truly an amazing woman. She was fiercely independent, quick, witty, and as tough as they come. Her strength and determination were remarkable to witness and inspiring to us all.

Adele Goodwin will be greatly missed but her countless stories and memories will surely live on. She was a fire cracker and knowing the impact that she had on our family and this world is very comforting.

The memorial service will be held at Bay Pines in Saint Petersburg on March 28, 2019 at 10:30 AM
