Stephen Paul Homan

September 27, 1946 - January 22, 2022

Stephen Paul Homan, 75, of Longwood, Florida, passed away at home on January 22, 2022. Steve was born in Celina, Ohio on September 27, 1946. He was a graduate of Ligonier High School and Penn State University. Steve was a reporter and news anchor at WDAU in Scranton, PA and was the News Director and Vice President at WESH in Orlando, FL, where, in the course of his career, he earned an Emmy for his journalistic work. He also worked as the Public Information Spokesman for the Florida Department of Transportation. He was a veteran and served in the United States Navy. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and watching his beloved Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen (nee Uhlenhake) and Paul Homan. Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandi (nee McDonald) Homan, 3 daughters: Wendy Gross (Lonnie), Rebecca Klump (Tom), and Jessica Fratrik (Ben), 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Gross, Sara Gross, Luke Fratrik, Molly Fratrik, and Meghan Klump; 3 brothers, 7 sisters, along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, January 29, 2022 at Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood Florida. There will be a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 AM at the Church. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the Mass, at 640 S. Country Club Rd., Lake Mary, FL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in Steve’s name be sent to Advent Health Hospice Care, Altamonte Springs, Florida, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
