Ronald Earl Harman

Ronald Earl Harman, a veteran of Vietnam and longtime resident of Longwood, passed away on February 21, 2022, surrounded by family. Ron was born August 15, 1945, to Robert and Ruby (Starr) Harman in Elwood, Indiana. The family moved to Ohio where he graduated from Hoover High School in North Canton. He studied art in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Ohio State University, majoring in Medical Illustration, and later joining the teaching staff. Ron moved to Washington, DC and kicked off a career in Advertising that lasted about 40 years as an award-winning Creative Director for several firms. He completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at Catholic University. In between pursing his educational goals, Ron spent four years in the Marine Corps (1967 – 1971), serving as a helicopter door gunner. He earned many awards including the Purple Heart. Ron was predeceased by his parents and his sister Rhonda Harman. He is survived by his wife Lisa whom he was married to for 39 years, his four children: Jaime (Sean Capelle) Harman, Corey Harman, Richard (Rachel) Harman, Mark Harman and his four grandchildren. The family will conduct a Celebration of Life on May 22nd, 2022, at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Longwood.
