Robert Glenn Horner

May 23, 1953 - September 8, 2021

Robert Glenn Horner On September 8, 2021, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Robert Glenn Horner, passed away at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ree Horner and his mother Cubie Loretta Horner. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Horner, his three children, Timothy Horner & wife Danielle, Tiffany Vinson & husband Jonathan, Terrence Horner & wife Jacqueline and four grandchildren, Scarlett, Hayden, Ella and Miles. Glenn is also survived by his stepmother, Evelyn Shultz, three brothers, Larry Horner, Bill Horner, Doug Horner, and two sisters, Denise Sparkman, and Deborah Cribbs. Glenn moved to Orlando at the age of 4 when his father became the minister of a local church. He always loved to tell stories about running through the vast orange groves and how he remembered Orlando before I-4. In 1974 he enlisted in the army and was a radar technician for the United States Missile Defense System during the Vietnam War. In 1981 he met his wife Becky at the First Church of God. It was love at first sight. Soon after, they married in September of 1981 and spent the next 40 years side by side raising their children and running their HVAC business together. Glenn loved his work and enjoyed the daily interaction with all his customers. He liked having a beautiful yard and tending to his citrus trees. All his friends and family went home with bags of fruit every season. Glenn had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Throughout his life he enjoyed being part of the choir and singing gospel music in church. But, most of all he loved all the trips he took with his children to skating and diving competitions and watching them grow into amazing adults, raising their children, his precious grandchildren. Glenn, Dad, Papa, will be so missed. He will be at every family gathering in our hearts. His work ethic, honesty, and huge capacity for love will be forever a part of us. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 11:00 AM on September 18, 2021 at St Stephen Lutheran Church located at 2140 FL-434, Longwood, FL 32779. Friends and family are invited to the Horner home after the service to remember and celebrate his life.
