Maria Cristina (Cris) Novoa

June 1, 1958 - February 2, 2022

In loving memory: Maria Cristina Novoa (Cris) was born June 1st 1958 in Bogota Colombia to Gonzalo and Maria Novoa. Immigrating to Worceste,r Massachusetts in 1967 and later relocating to central Florida in 1976 to attend Edgewater High School. Cris was a graduate of the University of Central Florida earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She worked for over 30 years at the Walt Disney Company. While at Disney, Cris was awarded a Rotary Scholarship to further her education in France at Strasbourg University. Fluent in Spanish, French and English, Cris studied and traveled throughout Europe for a year. After retiring from Disney in 2016 she became a devoted caregiver to her parents. Despite her diminutive size, she was a giant with regard to benevolence and compassion, giving all of herself to others yet never asking anything in return. Be it birthdays, anniversaries or milestones, she was the first to call, text or send a congratulatory card. Cris passed away at the age of 63 on February 2, 2022 in Orlando, Florida. She is survived by her siblings Pilar Novoa-McGee, Al Novoa, Stella Michaud and Sandra Silver. A celebration of life will be held on at 6:00 PM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at DeGusipe Funeral Home, Maitland, FL.
