Leonora Vata, age 56, of Pinellas Park, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Born on May 2, 1968, in Shkoder, Albania, Leonora was known for her compassionate nature and her deep love for helping others, especially the elderly. Her selflessness and kindness were evident in everything she did, always putting others before herself. Leonora will be remembered fondly for her infectious laugh and her passion for flowers and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kel Vata.
Leonora is survived by her son, Leandro Gjoni; her mother, Roza Hila Vata; her sister, Emanuela Vata, and her husband Piro Hyseni; her brother, Alfon Vata; her nieces and nephews, Sara, Era, and Enio Quku, and Vangelin Hyseni; her aunt, Rregjina Poti, and her husband Tonin Poti; and her cousins, Kozeta Rrgalla, Elton Poti, Kristiana Rrgalla, Alekandria Rrgalla, Antoni Rrgalla, Giana Rrgalla, Melania Poti, and Elton Poti Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, Florida, with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL.
Leonara's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
