John Charles Stoner, 79, passed away September 28, 2019 at home in Orlando, Florida. Born in Fostoria, Ohio, John was a loving husband, wonderful father, and an exceptional man.
Professionally, John was a board certified Otolaryngologist, facial plastic surgeon and USAF fight surgeon. As an ENT, he enjoyed his technical work in surgery but he especially prized his time serving his country in the USAF. He lived by the Air Force core values: integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. His favorite position was that of a Squadron Commander, because that was the highest position a service member could achieve and still work with the young airmen. He loved to help them form their own futures as a wise and experienced mentor.
A quiet man, John could be funny when least expected. John carefully chose his friends and then regarded them highly. Family was especially important to John, and he loved spending time with his children. And he adored his wife, Jacqueline, who adored him as well. He lived in a happy home.
His family will say their final goodbyes at 8:30 AM Thursday, October 10 at Holy Family Catholic Church 5125 South Apopka Vineland Road in Orlando, FL 32819
John will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 12:30 PM Thursday, October 10, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US-1 North Mims, FL 32754.
