Janet Ebinger

Jan was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland on July 9, 1951 to Ethel Pipa and Joe Hunady. Although an only child, she was very close to her cousins. From St. Cyril Methodius elementary school, Jan went on to St. Stephens High School in Lakewood and graduated in 1969. Attending Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, graduating with a degree as a dietician. Jan married William Ebinger in June of 1975 in Columbus, Ohio.They welcomed their children, Lisa and Sean in 1978 and 1981. In the late 1980’s, the family moved to Central Florida. There they started a successful franchise for H&R Block and sold it back to the company in 1994 after divorcing. Jan continued to work for Block until 2019. While operating the tax business, Jan also went to school to be a medical coder. Upon graduation, she worked for Advent Health, until retiring in 2021. Jan was a friend to all she met and she enjoyed being outgoing and was active socially. She was a member of the Parrot Heads of Central Florida and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed volunteering opportunities, especially with the Parrot Heads charitable event, “Fruitcakes in the Alley”. Janet H. Ebinger was an amazing mother to Lisa (Karim) and Sean (Evelyn). She was a loving grandmother to Tyler, Mya, Shawn, Alexandra, and David. Jan enjoyed spending time and traveling with her companion for the last 5 years, Tom Corley. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and a member of the St. Luke’s Women’s Circle. Jan enjoyed the outdoors, beach vacations, and most of all being around her family and friends. Jan lived to the fullest and enjoyed every day she was with us. Jan will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. If attending Jan's Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life - Please feel free to wear any color to celebrate Jan.
