James R. Horton Jr.

May 6, 1931 - April 17, 2022

James R. Horton, Jr. passed away at his home in the care of loved ones on April 17th 2022 at the age of 90. He is survived by his five daughters Rita, Renee, Roxane, Roberta, and Tammy, son in laws Joe and Bryan, grandchildren Lisa, Jenn, Joey, Chuck, Chad, Alexandra, and Zac, great grandchildren Danielle, Adriana, Mason and Kate, and his beloved caretaker Tonya. Jim was born in Elliott, Mississippi on May 6, 1931 and joined the Army Air Corps in 1947. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 as a Chief Master Sergeant. During his career, he traveled the world working in countries such as Libya, Germany, Italy, and Greenland, among many others, leading the original team to modernize the Air Force with its first IBM computer systems. Upon his retirement, he moved his family to Orlando where he worked in the trucking and automotive industries. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sue. He was a selfless and loving Christian man that will be dearly missed by many. The family of James R.
