Duwane E. Green

December 6, 1948 - February 14, 2022

Duwane E. Green passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, at Southlake Hospital, Clermont, Florida. Duwane was born on December 6, 1948, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of the late Col. William (Bill) and Nidlia (Dee) Green. Duwane graduated from Niceville High School and the University of West Florida. Duwane served for 3 years in the Army as a Special Forces Ordinance Engineer during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Shalimar, Florida. In 1998, Duwane and his family moved to Oakland, Florida. After working in various technical occupations, Duwane began his career with The Home Depot. March 4, 2022, would have been his 20th year with the company, Duwane enjoyed many interests including fishing, gator hunting, wood and metal working, and beer and wine making. He looked forward to gifting his friends and family every Christmas with his latest wine creation. Duwane is survived by his wife Shireen (Holman) Green and daughter Whitney E. Holman of Oakland, Fla., sister Renee and husband Kevin Stiefel of Meridian, Miss., grandson Joseph James (JJ) Holman of Oakland, Fla., nephews Kyle and wife Lauren Stiefel of Meridian, Miss., and Brett and wife Aimee Stiefel of Moss Point, Miss., niece Michelle (Green) Rauser of Bakersfield, CA, and grand-nephews Brantley O’Brien, Walker Stiefel , Westen Stiefel and David Anderson and grand-nieces Meri Parker Stiefel and Tabitha Anderson. Duwane is preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) Green Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3rd at Holy Family Catholic Church, Orlando. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family of Duwane E. Green invites you to leave a message of condolence on the Tribute Wall created in his loving memory.
