Obituary

Charles Joseph Ferrell, Jr., 87, Orlando passed away April 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 23, 1931 in Portsmouth OH the son of Charles Joseph, Sr. and Elizabeth (George) Ferrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Charles Joseph III and John Patrick Ferrell; grandson Andrew Richard Ferrell; sisters Mary Parsley, Josephine Rutherford and Judy Kahaly.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Janet (Frantz) Ferrell whom he married June 19, 1954 in Portsmouth OH; children Richard, James and wife Nikki, Thomas, Kathryn McGirr and husband Bob, Karen, Frank and wife Von, Mary Angela, and Kaleen Torres and husband Juan; grandchildren, Charles, Christina, Kimberly, Jonathan, Tiffany, Joseph, Tatiana, James, William, Victoria and Sophia; 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, David Ferrell and wife Sally. He will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and neighbors.

Charlie was an avid Ohio State fan, he served in the United States Air Force, and he worked at the Southern Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 32 years. He then began an encore career as founder of Ferrell Realty, Inc. in Winter Park, FL.

He was a founding Member and active Parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Orlando, Past President of the Syrian-Lebanese American Club of Orlando, Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, dedicated fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and an awarded Orlando Sentinel Top Letter Writer for over 25 years. Charlie had a genuine appreciation for various music genres and loved playing the piano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Charles on Thursday, April 12, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs FL 32701.
