Betty Calahorrano
October 27, 1941 - May 12, 2021
Betty Marlene Calahorrano was 79 years young when she passed on May 13th, 2021. She was born in Duran, Ecuador on October 27, 1941. Betty grew up with three sisters and one younger brother. She was the second oldest sister in the Bidal-Pinto family. Betty immigrated to the United States at a young age to create a better life for her family. Along with her husband David, Betty had six children, two of which died in Ecuador at a young age. She has four surviving children, from eldest to youngest, Luis Calahorrano, Jacqueline Nieves, Javier Calahorrano & Elizabeth Young. Betty was always described as a loving mother and a tender and selfless grandmother. Betty has nine surviving grandchildren, four grandsons and five granddaughters. Betty also has four great-grandchildren. Betty was always so positive during hard times. She was always smiling and laughing in anyones presence. She loved to crack jokes and spoil all her children and grandchildren with love. Betty had a sense of pure light and love and it radiated throughout the entire family especially when we celebrated events together. Her entire family, in the US and in Ecuador are heart broken that her light has been dimmed however, we all hope to one day see her again! She would’ve wanted us to dance and smile, so we will continue to celebrate her life in our everyday endeavors. We all love you and we will miss you until we meet again! Thank you to everyone for the support and love during this time!
