Mrs. Anne Liang Ryder

Anne Laing Ryder, 78, passed away on April 20, 2022 at her home in Winter Park, Florida. She was born on October 1, 1943 in Cortland, New York. Her parents were Richard Ross Laing and Ruth Miller. After her family relocated to Florida, Anne graduated from Winter Park High School in 1961. Following high school she earned credit hours from several colleges and universities. In 1971 Anne began her working career at Florida Technological University as a Clerk Typist II In the Admissions Office. (In 1978 the name of the university was changed to the University of Central Florida). After several promotions over the span of 39 years, Anne retired December 2009 from UCF as a Computer Programmer Analyst in the Department of Institutional Research. Anne loved working for the university and she earned several special awards and recognitions over the years. She would go out of her way to give extra assistance to students, faculty and staff whenever she had the opportunity. She was a devoted UCF Football fan and cheered the team on win or lose. Black and Gold are definitely her favorite colors. Anne married Jack Barry Ryder on June 10, 1981. Anne and Jack loved to cruise. They cruised over seventy times with fifty of their trips being on Carnival Cruise ships. They had many pleasant memories of the various countries they visited. Anne is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Ruth Laing; her brother, Richard Ross Laing; and her husband, Jack Barry Ryder. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Richard Von Hopf; Step-son, Jack Barry Ryder, Jr. (Charmaine); Nephew, Michael Laing (Chrissy); God Daughter, Kelly Ryder (Art); three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
