William (Bill) T. Farrell

William T. Farrell passed on the 13th day of March, 2019 at the age of 90. As this was an extremely sad time, it was truly a blessing to have him be relieved of the pain he had endured for so long. Born in 1929, Bill was the eldest of nine siblings and began a career in the U.S. Navy at the early age of seventeen. Being enlisted he then decided to go Warrant Officer which later led him to becoming a top notch Navy Lieutenant. His interest had steered to becoming a deep sea diver. He went on to become a Master Diver and was attached to Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT). He journeys took him all over the world, often with very risky situations to be undertaken. Although he was Navy career man he often took on civilian cases as he had acquired the knowledge of handling most every task at hand. One such mission put him in the Feb. 1960 issue of National Geographic; the city of Port Royal in the Caribbean experienced a major earthquake and sank into the ocean. There always seemed to be a sense of excitement in his missions as that is what he seemed to love; the mystery of unknowing circumstances, risk factors involved and the element of surprise! The passion he displayed in each and every quest was brought to others in his telling of these great stories. After twenty-five years of love of the U.S. Navy he then retired and took home correspondence classes in air conditioning and refrigeration. In his journey to figure out what he wanted to do next, he became an electrician. Again he tackled the precision needed in accomplishing these tasks. Throughout his entire life he was wrapped up in some sort of hobby ranging from beautiful wood-working projects, doing all types of home repairs, tile art and putting together his own personal music library (he was an excellent singer and whistler!) He knew how to accomplish the job at hand with his flair of perfect-ionism. It's totally true to say and to know 'There's nothing he couldn't do'. The richness of his knowledge was a constant to others as was the kindness within his heart. 'Always strive to be and do your best' was the lesson at hand. Also needed was learning to be strong so as to take care of yourself, but to not forget about those less fortunate. As one of his children I feel totally blessed to have been given these wonderful ideals for life. Be it the husband, father or friend, 'Bill' Farrell will truly and forever be missed and never be forgotten by anyone who has crossed paths with him. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Sandra; his children Sharon, Billy, ad Colleen; and his two grandsons, Micah and Tommy. We love you..Rest well.
