Veronica Creech

Veronica “Roni” Elaine Creech, 71, passed away on April 24th, 2022, in St. Petersburg, FL with the comfort of family by her side. Born June 15th, 1950 in Buffalo NY, she attended Mount Mercy Academy Holy Family School, and later Trocaire College. Her passing reunites her with her deceased husband Robert L. Creech, and she is survived by her children Summer Creech, Corey Creech, Patrick (PJ) Ryan, and Kelly Gilray. She adored her multiple grandchildren, including Aiden Creech, twins Zoey and Elena Creech, Megan Gilray, and Ryan Gilray. Later in her life, she was thankfully reunited with her biological siblings Susie, Carol, Sharon, Danny, Debbie, and Ritchie, and the additional family they provided, all of whom brought her so much joy. She had strong friendships that lasted many years, including those with Chuck, Patty, Marian, and Tammy. Veronica was a nurse in her earlier years, and later worked in hospitality for many years, bringing compassion and conversation to many people throughout her life. She would later identify as a hippie, as a biker, and a self-proclaimed odd ball, but above all, she was a genuinely good and kind person. She loved her grandchildren, and she would glow when she saw them, spoke to them, or spoke to others about them. Roni was also a great friend. To become her friend was to have a friend for life, and she had many friendships that spanned countless years. She always tried to help where she could, and was always there to listen. She extended that kindness to strangers as well, with a goal to make someone smile every day. During her times of difficult health, she would be known to make jokes and laugh with medical staff and health providers, bringing levity during hard times. Veronica will certainly be remembered by many for her sense of humor. Although, and she would agree, it was sometimes odd, it was still refreshing and uplifting. Roni was a music lover. It was a constant joy in her life, and she could spend hours discussing different genres. She would beam when discussing her live music experiences, being in the presence of musicians she admired, the most prevalent recently being Todd Rundgren. Although Roni was never on time for anything, and this was a playful joke for many years, she reminded us there was beauty in slowing down. She valued a phone call over a text, took the time to enjoy her coffee, and savored a good meal. She practiced having the patience to look for and enjoy the beauty of this world. With her patience came perseverance. She was willing to fight any hardships she came across, and the strength of her spirit and determination was evident to anyone around her, even in her final days. She was a unique and vibrant character who knew exactly who she was, and she never attempted to be anything else. Those who knew her loved her for it. She will be incredibly missed.
