Tracy Chandler Peterson

On June 6, 2011, Tracy Chandler Peterson was gathered into the warm and loving embrace of Christ. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Tracy was born on August 7, 1960 to Gail and Sanford Chandler at Florida Hospital South in Orlando. She was first in a set of identical twins, and the two were often referred to as "Pete and Repeat" by their high school friends. She had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, a loving heart, a brilliant intellect, and a radiant presence wherever she went. Having been raised in a loving and spiritual home, Tracy remained faithful to the Winter Park Presbyterian Church. On May 7, 1994, she married her longtime sweetheart Charlie Henry Peterson at Knowles Chapel of Rollins College, with her sisters attending as maids of honor and her nephew, Kyle, as ring bearer. As a native Floridian, Tracy grew up in Winter Park and eventually settled in west Orlando following her marriage. A graduate of Winter Park High School in 1978, Tracy was an active member of the National Honor Society. She and her twin sister, Terry, would often trade classes to see if their teachers would notice; often they did not. At Rollins College, she earned a degree in Business Finance. In order to fund her education, Tracy secured a position as a teller at Barnett Bank. She later continued her career with R-G Crown Bank and Fifth-Third Bank as the Customer Service Manager. Her ability to connect and care for her clients set a high standard for her friends and coworkers. Tracy was an avid sports fan, always attending local events with her husband. In Tracy's eyes, the score rarely mattered. She remained faithful to relishing every moment she could with Charlie and her children. Family was first-and-foremost in her life. Tracy was known for enthusiastically hosting her children's slumber parties, embarking on long and enjoyable summer vacations, and planning some of the most brilliant birthday celebrations in her neighborhood. Always setting a standard for selfless giving, Tracy often contributed her time and money to various educational charities, the Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Trevor Project. She appreciated the importance of a good education, not only for her children, but to all students in Orange County Public Schools, which her children currently attend. A scholarship fund will be set up in Tracy's honor. Tracy touched the lives of so many people. She was an angel on Earth, and now she has gone home. Tracy is survived by her husband, Charles H. Peterson; her daughter, Brianna Gail Peterson; her son Kameron Charles Peterson; her daughter's dear guinea pig, Reeces; her parents Gail and Sanford Chandler; her sister, Michelle Chandler; her twin sister, Terry Seacrist; her youngest sister, Kelly Hooper; her nephews Kyle Getz and Joshua Hooper; her brothers-in-law Robert Seacrist and Kevin Hooper; her mother-in-law Fran Link; her aunt and uncle Peggy and Donald Gardiner; her aunt and uncle Helen and Bill Braddock, her aunt Marion Robinson; her aunt and uncle Betty and Jack Braddock. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 6-8 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
