Susan K. Lawson

Susan K. Lawson October 7, 1948 � April 11, 2013 Susan (Sue) Lawson, otherwise known as Silver Sue, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She leaves the love of her life, Steve Dewitt, her daughter, Heather Lawson, her son, Troy Lawson, her sister, Pamela Butson, and her beloved dog, Scooter. Sue was born in Brattleboro, Vermont. She moved to Saint Petersburg with her mother, Helen Kramer and her sister, Pam, after her father, Jacob Kramer, passed away when Sue was only five years old. Her mother loved St. Petersburg and remained here allowing Sue to establish many, many close, long-term friendships along the way. In her young adult years, Sue worked as a mermaid at Weeki Wachi (so cool) and later worked at Ellis Bank as a teller, followed by co-owning Contemporary Jewelers, and a bookkeeper for two law firms. Her most recent occupation was at Jim�s Harley Davidson, which she loved and where she spent eight years as an office manager. Sue also began and co-owned a successful business (St. Pete. Auto Glass) with her partner, Steve. To those who loved Sue, she will be remembered for her never ending kindness and support toward others. She was very supportive of her family and friends but, was careful not to burden others (although they would not have considered it a burden). Her kindness extended from people to dogs. Sue was a real dog lover and all those pups who were blessed to come into her life, all fell in love with her. Sue especially loved Australian Cattle dogs and provided gifted lives to many for over 25 years. The chihuahuas at Jim�s Harley Davidson were attached to her hip. She was an easy going person with a free-spirit, a true Grateful Dead fan and a lover of motorcycle riding. She was certainly spunky and was a straight shooter. Sue expressed her honest opinion without imposing judgment. Her deep blue eyes sparkled and she shined a beautiful smile, and laughed often, due to her very much appreciated sense of humor. I�m not sure that she was aware of how truly special she was, but Sue was indeed an angel who blessed our planet during the too short time that she was here. She will forever hold a deep place in the hearts of those who loved her and will be missed each day for the rest of our lives. Services will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 1 pm at R.
