Patricia Palumbo

Patricia Ann Palumbo, Winter Park, Florida 59 Passed away on November 9, 2011 after a long battle with Cancer. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1951, Patricia attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and Saint Agnes Academy High School in Memphis and Graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1973 with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and obtained her Professional Engineering license as she advanced her career. In the early part of her career in Civil Engineering, she was employed by Harland Bartholomew & Associates in Memphis and was a member of the Engineers Club of Memphis. In 1990 she relocated to Florida and over the past eleven years has been employed with URS in Orlando, Florida as Program Manager of Traffic Engineering for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. Patricia was an active member of the Catholic Church and attended Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park where she was a lector and greeter, a member of a weekly religious studies group and sponsored candidates in RICA. She was an active member of the Toastmasters Club, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a life member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Institute of City Planners and has received a number of awards for her work on the Florida Turnpike. She is survived by her parents Frank P. Palumbo, Jr. 81 and Betty Ann Palumbo, 80, her brother Frank Paul Palumbo, III, sisters Cynthia & Jay Wright and Donna & Andy Pierotti of Memphis and brother Christopher & Janet Palumbo of Greenville, SC., eleven Nieces and Nephews and three great nieces and nephews. Visitation and Services will be held in Winter Park, Florida and Memphis, Tennessee. The family will receive visitors at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland, Florida on Friday November 11, 2011 between 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral services in Florida will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 9:00am. Visitation in Memphis will be held at the Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue between 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday November 15, 2011 and funeral services will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church on Adams Avenue in Memphis at 10:30am on Wednesday November 16, 2011. Following the service, interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memory of Patricia Palumbo.
