Patricia A. Fredlund

Patricia Amelia Fredlund - age 68 of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2012, in St. Petersburg. She was a "native" Floridian, born in Clearwater as Patricia Graham and graduating from Clearwater High. Pat was a valuable team leader in manufacturing CPR equipment at Mercury Medical where she had retired after "35" years of professional, dedicated service. At Mercury, "Power Surge" Pat, as she was nicknamed, made many life-long friends who have very fond memories and humorous stories of working with her. In her spare time she was an avid car enthusiast, along with her husband Robert, winning many trophies and prizes at car shows and competitions all over the state of Florida with her tricked out Dodge Dakota truck and her customized PT Cruiser. She also enjoyed going, along with Robert, as a spectator to various motor vehicle races and events all over the country. Pat had a kind and loving soul with a special soft spot for animals and her pets. She loved cats and owned many special ones throughout the years; especially her late beloved Norwegian Forest Cat named "Tally" a.k.a. "Little Girl". In Pat's early years she shared her love of horses with her young daughter Pam by purchasing a couple of them which provided a hobby that lasted for many years. She also loved her purebred Collie dogs; raising and showing them at dog shows. Pat was always an expert "gardener" with a lifetime hobby of growing beautiful flowers and plants in her own gardens. She was an inspiration and was loved and admired by all who knew her. Her bright smile, compassion and gentle personality will certainly be missed. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert Fredlund. She was a loving mother to her children who all live in FL; Pamela P. Jeffers of Seminole,Valerie V. Mowat of Panama City and Andrew B. Parks of Tampa. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Monica Welch and a step-son, John Fredlund both of Colorado. Pat was a uniquely special grandmother to her grandchildren; Kristian Bolduc, Jessica Bolduc, Shawn "Bud" Bolduc Jr.and Gordon Parks who knew her affectionately as "Grandma Sci-Fi" due to her letting them stay up late and watch scary science fiction movies and TV shows along with her while she was babysitting. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren, one great-grandson; Bentley Geissler and her friend and caregiver, Raymona VanWhy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 26th, starting at 2 PM with the "Celebration of Life Service" beginning at 3 PM.
