Mary Margaret Overton

Mary Margaret Overton, 64, from St. Petersburg, FL died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in St. Petersburg, FL in a fatal car accident. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jeanine Marie Overton and Patricia Ann Overton. Mary was born on February 19, 1946 in Detroit, MI to Robert Henry MacDonald and Loretta Anna Senay. She was raised in Flat Rock, OH with her 7 siblings and graduated from St. Francis Convent School in 1964. Mary married Ronald Gene Overton in October 1978 in Los Angeles, California. Mary attended college while living in California and enjoyed working at a variety of places. She moved to St. Petersburg, FL in June 1990 to be closer to her mother and father. Mary worked for the Pinellas Country Schools at Azalea Middle School as a Baker for over 10 years. She always had a great time with her co-workers and loved being creative. Mary also worked for Essilor of America Laboratories for over 10 years as an inspector and enjoyed helping and advocating for her co-workers Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, gardening and making people laugh. She loved trying new things and was always open to new experiences. Her biggest passion was for helping people. Mary went out of her way to help other people her entire life and even after death by donating her organs. Mary is also survived by her mother, Loretta MacDonald and siblings Elizabeth Schlachter (Richard), Father Richard MacDonald, SCJ, Eva Mae Overton, Norman MacDonald, Beatrice Stein (William), James MacDonald (Patricia). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. Mary is predeceased by her husband Ronald Gene Overton; father, Robert Henry MacDonald; and brother, Robert John MacDonald. She is also predeceased by father-in-law Manuel Overton and sister-in-law Kathleen MacDonald. Mary will be remembered with visitation at 6pm-9pm with a prayer service at 7pm on Friday, September 10, 2010 at R. Lee Williams & Sons Funeral Home, 3530 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL. Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ Catholic Church, 5800 15th Ave. S., Gulfport, FL. The internment will be at a later date.
