Mrs. Marianna J. Cecere

Marianna was 80 years young when she passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at The Cornerstone Assisted Living Facility in Longwood, Florida. She was born in Bonito, Italy and moved to the United States when she was 4 years old. Marianna is preceded in death by her parents, Crescenzo & Maria (Camuso) Cecere, her nephew Christopher, and her brothers Joseph, Robert and Christopher. She is survived by her youngest brother, (Deacon) Gregory J Cecere of Beavercreek, Ohio, sister-in-law, Sue (Sewell) Cecere, nephew Mark J (Libby) Cecere, grand niece Nicole Cecere - all of Winter Springs, Florida; sister-in-law, Lillian (Bryant) Cecere, nephews Gregory J (Jennifer) Cecere, and Michael J Cecere and (adopted) niece Lesa Gigante - all from Tampa/St Petersburg area. Marianna was a member of St Augustine Catholic Church for more than 20 years and had developed many friendships there. She was also gentle and kind to those at The Cornerstone, where she had lived since 2010. Marinna had a warm and loving smile. Sincerest thanks from Marianna’s family to the staff and personnel of The Cornerstone at Longwood for all the loving care they gave Marianna while she was a resident since 2010. Special thanks also to the VITAS Hospice nursing and counseling staff who provided the nursing and spiritual care during the last days of her earthly life. Thank you to Todd DeGusipe and his staff at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory for his compassionate care and attention to family needs in preparation for this service. And a most special ‘thank you’ to Jane & Tom Lane, Kathy & Dan Hale, Peggy & John DeCaprio, Hortensia & Tony Gabriel, Noreen Castle, Elaine & Bob Licato, Dolores Gonos, Leslie Hawk, who were family to Marianna, visiting with her, taking her to church, appointments, and to lunch (Bob Evans was a favorite), as well as celebrating many birthdays with her. You made Marianna very happy and she loved you all dearly. You can shed tears because she is gone, or you can smile because she LIVED! We choose to smile. She will be sorely missed.
