Kenneth A. Treat

Passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at AdventHealth Apopka Hospital in Apopka, Florida, at the age of 77. Ken was born in Babylon, New York, on April 20, 1948, to Herbert and Dorothy Coyle Treat. He graduated from West Islip High School in 1966 and attended college in Orlando, where he met his beloved wife, Sara Blair. An accomplished percussionist, Ken traveled with his band, worked on cruise ships, and even recorded an album titled *Loving Stuff*. He dedicated many years to working as a custodial engineer at English Estates Grade School for Seminole Schools, where Sara also worked. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorthy Treat; his beloved wife, Sara; daughter-in-law, Leslie Treat; father-in-law, John Blair; and brother-in-law, Don Kinney. He is survived by his children, Michael (Lina) Treat, Lara Michelle (Patrick) Williams, and Rachael (Robert) Tisdale. His loving family includes his five granddaughters, Blair Casto and her fiancé Jaron, Brynn Castro, Emma Tisdale, Sara Tisdale, and Kelsey Williams; and three grandsons, Jacob Treat, Nate Treat, and Ben Tisdale. Ken is also survived by his brother William (Diane) Treat, sisters Carol Kinney, Nancy ( Kevin) McNamara and his dear sisters-in-law, Ellen and Susan Blair. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken and Sara’s loving hearts are also reflected in their bonus children, Kelvy and Elizabeth. In 2012, Ken welcomed into his life a new family with his life partner, Dr. Eileen Jordan. Together, they embraced her daughters—Ariane (Ron) Laughlin, Alacia (Chris) Constantine, and Alana Jordan and her fiancé Sean—and their two grandsons, Remington Lee and Alexander Lei. Ken and Eileen also celebrated the arrival of their first great-grandchild, Cayden Graham, with Blair and Jaron. Ken and Eileen shared close friendships with Allan Jackson and John Nader, with whom they played in the Southside R&B band , performing wonderful classic rock and R&B. Ken built a life on love, music, laughter, and countless everyday miracles. His warm spirit, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, starting at 12 noon at his residence in Apopka.
