Gary Robert Lewis

Gary R. Lewis, 59, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on March 16, 2013. Gary was born on March 27, 1953, in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Gary moved with his family to St. Petersburg, FL in 1972. Gary received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Florida. He then began his career in retail at K-Mart where he was in management. If Gary was not spending his time with what he would deem his greatest achievement � his daughter and grandchildren, you would find him working away on the computer. Most people will remember Gary as the one you would call if you had any kind of technical issue. He could solve it in the blink of an eye. However, his granddaughter Kyla, would tell you that is who you call when you need a boy to do something! Gary will be fondly remembered for his �dessert stomach�, the ability he had of eating anything and everything sweet! If there were any cake, pie or cookies left � give them to Gary he will finish them! His colleagues may remember him for his sense of humor. Not many people know that he had a TV remote in his desk, for no other purpose then to �mute� Maria when she began nagging him at work. Whether you called Gary � Daddy, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Friend, or Colleague � one thing is for sure � we will all miss him and know that he is looking down on us from heaven. He is survived by his daughter, Traci Lewis-Reaume; his grandchildren, Kyla, Kiersten, and Kamdyn; stepdaughter, Stephanie Pio; mother and father, Bob and June (Benline) Lewis; two sisters, Pamela (Lewis) Scoles and husband Stephen, Cynthia (Lewis) James and husband Jim; one brother, Keith Lewis and wife Sheryl; two nieces, Brittanie (Scoles) Bailey and Kristen Scoles; four nephews, Robert Lewis, Tyler Scoles, Chesney, and Ashton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents Earl and Margaret Lewis, Clifford and Frieda Benline. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, March 25, 2013 at R Lee Williams & Son Funeral Home; 3530 49th Street North; St. Petersburg, FL 33710. A reception will be following immediately afterwards at the residence of Bob and June Lewis, directions will be provided at the memorial.
