Edward Thomas

Edward Thomas, born on June 25,1929 in Mercedes Corrientes just north of Buenos Aires Argentina, the son of Alberto Thomas and Maria Anjelica Thomas. He was the youngest of the 3 brothers Alberto Jorge and Guillermo Thomas. . During his Military career he met and married his beloved wife, Myriam and married in Mendoza, Argentina. The two newlyweds soon had two children, a son Edward Jr, born in1955 and daughter Marcela in 1957. In 1959 he moved his young family to the United States, settling in New Jersey. He worked very hard in order to support his family and ultimately achieve the American Dream. He was very proud of becoming a US Citizen and his love of his new country never wavered. He studied hard after working long days to become a programmer in its early days and ultimately earned his way to success with companies like Pepsi, Philip Morris and Retiring with General Foods (Kraft). During this time Edward and Myriam had their third son, Alex, born in 1967. Upon retiring, Ed and Myriam moved to Florida, making their new home in Lake Mary. Even though “retired”, they both opened small business ventures and had fun in doing so. Upon Myriam being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Ed turned his time to taking care of her until she went to heaven in 2012. During the last few years, Ed and his family were fortunate that he met a wonderful woman, Dolores. This meeting adding a boost to his life as he was happy, smiling and laughing! Ed was a lover of music, good food and wine, not to mention margaritas and mimosas. He loved to see nature. He enjoyed stopping to talk to strangers who quickly became friends because of his charismatic personality. Ed was certainly unforgettable. He often said he had lived a good life and loved life. He was a loving father, grandfather to Adriana, Simone, Andrew, Bella, Elisabeth, Ali and Robert and Great Grandfather to Maya, Kiko and Alessandro. He was Uncle and a Friend to many! He will be deeply missed. Ed was committed in finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
