Mr. Dino Gonzalez

Galvarino "Dino" Gonzalez On the evening of October 21, 2013, Dino passed way peacefully at Florida Hospital South, surrounded by his children, wife, brother and friends. At the time of passing, Dino was 47 years young. Dino Gonzalez was born on October 16, 1966 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He was the second son of Salo and Zetna Gonzalez. Dino's childhood was spent in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. While still a child, his family relocated to New York City. When he was ready for high school, Dino relocated to Orlando, Florida where he lived with his "abuelita." He spent most of his adult life in the Central Florida area. Dino graduated from Evans High School in 1984. Immediately after, he attended Valencia Community College. He also spent time in Mississippi with his brother, Sal Gonzalez. Dino was a valued member of the Orlando Sentinel team for many years. In 1991, Dino met his future wife who he married in 1994. Dino had three amazing children, Giovannii Cesar Gonzalez, Ginelle Mikaella Gonzalez and Austin Johnson. In 1998, Dino began his career in law enforcement as a Correctional Officer with Orange County. His passion and goal was to become a police officer. In 2001, he relocated to Aspen, Colorado where he continued to pursue his dream. He worked for TSA, Snowmass Village and Garfield County Corrections. Dino pursued his dream and spent a few years in the Florida Keys, Weston, and Cooper City before attending Colorado Mountain College and becoming certified as a police officer. Dino realized his dream when he became a police officer for the City of Basalt, Colorado. In 2009, Dino and his family returned to Orlando. A full circle journey. Between 2009 and 2013, Dino returned to school and received his Associate's Degree from Florida Technical College and was pursuing his Bachelor's degree. Dino was a valued team member of McEwan, Martinez & Dukes, PA. Dino was preceded in death by his mother, Zetna Gonzalez and his father, Salo Gonzalez. Dino is survived by his son, Giovannii Cesar Gonzalez, his daughter, Ginelle Mikaella Gonzalez, his son, Austin Johnson, his wife, Happy Fuentes, his brother, Sal Gonzalez and his village of friends from all across the United States.
