Barbara Ann Konstant

Barbara Ann Konstant 78 of Redington Shores died Friday, November 6, 2020. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Edward Konstant; loving mother of Karen Wheeler, Lara Narzinsky (Erwin), Amy Doyle (James) and Robert Beucher; devoted grandmother of James Doyle, Jordan Doyle, Juliet Mann and Tonya Narzinsky; brothers and sisters. The family is having a celebration of Life on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2 pm at the Boca Ciega Millennium Park Pavilion 1 12410 74th Ave. North Seminole, Florida 33772. Everyone is asked to wear blue in honor of Barbara, her favorite color. Barbara had the biggest heart and she used it every day as the ultimate caregiver. She spent 40+ years as a Registered Nurse becoming a school nurse then working in ICU, CCU, Recovery Room and as a charge nurse. She took care of everyone, was a friend to all, the “neighborhood mom” and loved her family deeply. She appreciated science and technology, podcasts and audiobooks, and enjoyed learning… especially about philosophy, advances in medicine and genetics. She was a world traveler, explored the pyramids of Egypt, kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland, walked on the Great Wall of China, visited her friend in Vietnam, owned and lived in a flat in France, traveled to Costa Rica, Singapore, England, and so many other places. She was lucky enough to find the two great loves of her life, her late husband, Robert, of 28 years, who she cared for through his battle with leukemia, and Ed, who has been by her side for 22 years. She was the glue of her family, the magic, the matriarch, the peacekeeper, the brightest light. She enjoyed going on “adventures” with her daughters and friends, which included trips to antique shops, estate sales, bizarres, watching the beach sunsets, chatting and floating around in the pool, visiting the muffin man, attending Rays games, family dinners, time in her garden, good conversation and throwing Taco Tuesday for her son, Bob (which, amusingly, rarely comprised of tacos). She loved her grandchildren “to the moon and back” and was known to exercise her “Grandma” bragging rights on occasion. She also had a sweet, loving relationship with her sons-in-law. Most recently, she loved telling funny stories about her adopted cat, Tabitha, and was always willing to babysit her many grand dogs. She was witty and funny and all who knew her will miss her contagious giggle, her cheerful voice relaying words of wisdom and encouragement, her kind sparkling blue eyes, but most of all….her big loving heart.
