Angeline "Angie" DiGiacomo

Angeline (“Angie”) DiGiacomo (nee Jastrzebski) died on the feast day of St. James the Greater, July 25, 2024, in Oviedo, FL at the age of 98. Angie is survived by her two married daughters (Barbara and Debbie), a younger sister (Jeanette), three married grandchildren, a great-grandson, and two sisters-in-law, Violet, and Ann. She is preceded in death by her late husband, WWII Veteran Albert (“Al”) DiGiacomo and late sister, Delores. Angie is the daughter of Polish immigrants. To her grandchildren, she was known as “Babcia,” the Polish word for grandma. Her early life in Camden, NJ and Philadelphia was marked by the struggles of the Great Depression and World War II. She always expressed enormous gratitude to the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Philadelphia who provided her and her two sisters with a home, employment, and an excellent Catholic education. Angie graduated from Nazareth Academy High School in 1943, after which she worked as a secretary for the US Marine Corps. The post-war years brought her the love and joys of marriage, children, and a happy home life in Washington, D.C., where her late husband Al worked as a civil servant for the US Navy. The family moved to Cinnaminson, NJ in the mid-1960’s, to rejoin their extended family in the Philadelphia area. Retirement brought Al and Angie to Florida where both daughters, one grandson, and her great-grandson still reside. Angie possessed boundless energy and an enduringly positive spirit. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. We are certain heaven welcomed her with all the fanfare she deserves. Angie was extremely faithful to the Blessed Mother and Catholic Church. Her steadfast and selfless devotion to her faith and family will be celebrated on Friday August 16th at 11:00 am at a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at her parish, Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood, FL. Angie will be interred with her beloved husband, Albert, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angeline’s memory to Nativity Catholic Church or Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth (nazarethcsfn.org).
