Obituary

Birdie Raffield Davis went to be with The Lord on November 27,2013. Birdie was a wonderful handmaiden of The Lord; committed to living and sharing the Word of God to everyone who knew her. Like the US Postal service, Friday night family dinners never went unserved at the Davis house. No matter how she felt or meeting needs of her own, her servants heart always came first. Without expecting acknowledgement, recognition, or anything in return, she found joy in helping those in need while being a soldier of The Lord. Her sparkling eyes and radiant smile were captivating; it drew you in without speaking a word. Humility came naturally to her and inspired all who knew her. A true angel on this earth for a remarkable 100 years.

Pre-deceased by her husband,Edward L. Davis, and son, William Jefferson Davis; survived by her son, EJ Davis, and daughter, Lynda Davis Stapp. Birdie was the daughter of Clayton and Annie Lee Raffield. She was one of 11 children, survived by sisters, Sue Wesler, Myrtice Smith, and Myrtle Danley; and brother, Donald Raffield. Survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
